COVID Blessings

Greetings Avoca Church Family!

I am so excited for March 2021 to be here! Do you remember what March of 2020

brought us? I know for myself I learned so many new ways of doing kids ministry.

One of the hardest things for me was not being together. It was hard not seeing our

kids and families, and not having events that we had planned before COVID came

our way. Experiences like an Easter Event for our church families and community,

VBS, Church Camp and many more were missed. But now here we are a year later.

Hopefully, things will continue to keep getting better and we are prepared to do

those events again. We are also now prepared to do them in a way to keep

everyone SAFE.

So, this month we will be having a PJ party for the kids on March 14th at 10 a.m.

They get to wear their pajamas to church, eat pancakes and poptarts, and play

some fun games in the gym. Please bring your kids and let them bring their friends!

I am super excited for our Easter Event, the “Flashlight Scavenger Hunt & Movie

Night”! We will be having this event on Friday March 26th at 7p.m.  Easter egg

hunts are a staple when it comes to springtime events. And while kids love running

around collecting as many plastic eggs as they can, it is easy to forget the

significance of Easter – namely, Jesus! “Flashlight Scavenger Hunt” is a fun, new

twist to the traditional Easter egg hunt! Kids will become kid-tectives as they solve

puzzles and hunt for clues in the dark, which reveal what – or who – Easter is all

about! So, bring your families and friends. Invite your neighbors and coworkers!

Bring a flashlight if possible! We will also be watching a family-friendly Easter

movie!

How can you get involved in this Easter Event? We need candy! Yes, invite kids but

make sure they get registered so we know how many are coming. You will be able

to register families at http://avocachristianchurch.org.

We will have sign ups to help volunteer at the event. We will need people to be

Easter Egg and Goodie Bag Stuffers (Before the event), Set up/Tear Down

(Before/After the event), Recruiter (Welcome/check in), HQ Inspector (Hand out

puzzles and check them for accuracy), Zone Inspector (Monitor the scavenger hunt

area), Goodie Bag Station, Photographer, Safety/Security, Event Guide, Runners (Be

available during the event if something is needed)

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and

the wonders he has done.” Psalm 78:4

In His Love,
